Sketches and the occasional illustration.
So Tumblr, I have not died! In fact, I am now in a gallery show! Yay!

Featured are Jessie Wei-Hsuan Chen, Melissa Fenik, Pamela Koisin, Julia Lavigne, Chieh Lee, Sarah O’Connell, and of course yours truly! ^_^

The show is going to be held in the Oglethorpe Gallery, 406 E Oglethorpe Street, Savannah GA. The Reception is on Friday, May 3, from 6-9 p.m. If you can’t make it, never fear! We open on Thursday, May 2, from 1-8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., and Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. So come out if you can make it! It’s an awesome show!

And after this, I’ll get back to posting sketches reasonably regularly, I promise.

Okay, I haven’t posted in a while, but I’m still alive and sketching! I actually have a ton of sketches to post, but I haven’t scanned them yet. In the meanwhile, here’s a quick sketch of a friend of mine, Cleo. Here’s her tumblr link—she’s worth checking out! http://blog.cleonique.com/

Merry Christmas to all! And to those who don’t celebrate Christmas, Happy Holidays! May they be wonderful! This plant is a Christmas Candle (Cassia alata). It’s one of the three Barbadian Christmas plants, and a sure sign of the end of the year in Barbados :)

Here is one of my finished Illustrations. It’s for the song The Devil Went Down to Georgia, by Charlie Daniels and his band. We had to do hand-lettered type within the illustration itself. It was pretty fun.
I used the watercolour resist technique for this one, something I’d never tried before. For the record, India Ink smells awful.

My red handbag. Or purse, if that’s what you call it.

I believe this might be my one hundredth post. Nice.
It’s fitting that it should be a Brown Sugar-Cinnamon poptart. Goodness knows I eat enough of them.

So…it’s been a while. Sorry about that. It’s not that I haven’t had sketches to show, I just haven’t been posting them. So here’s a bunch over the next few days.
These were Jessie’s Keys.

A finished illustration of some breakfast food: scone, bagel, and muffin, with a mug of coffee and a plate with more butter than is healthy.  I really enjoyed doing this one, except for the fact that I had to do all the studies for this project and not eat in the meanwhile. I did eat it when it was done. Everything was delicious.
